What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device when you visit them. They help the site remember information about your visit — like your language preference, login session, or shopping cart contents — making your next visit easier and the site more useful to you.
Why We Use Cookies
Tech Designer uses cookies for the following purposes:
1. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are essential for the website to function. They cannot be turned off in our systems.
- Session cookies — keep you logged in as you navigate between pages
- CSRF tokens — protect forms against cross-site request forgery
- Cart contents — remember what you've added to your shopping cart
2. Performance & Analytics Cookies
These help us understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it.
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous page views, time on site, bounce rate
- Open-tracking pixel — anonymous email-open metrics for newsletter campaigns
3. Functional Cookies
These remember choices you make to give you a better experience.
- Currency preference (BDT, USD, etc.)
- Cookie-consent acknowledgement
4. Marketing & Advertising Cookies
Only set if you opt in. Used by Meta Pixel and Google Ads to show relevant ads.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by trusted third parties:
| Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Site analytics | Up to 2 years |
| Google Tag Manager | Tag management | Session |
| Meta Pixel (Facebook) | Conversion tracking, retargeting | Up to 90 days |
| reCAPTCHA | Bot & spam protection | Up to 6 months |
How to Control Cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you block, delete, or accept cookies (e.g. Chrome → Settings → Privacy → Cookies). Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break login and checkout.
- Opt out of analytics: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Opt out of advertising: Visit youronlinechoices.com for EU choices, or aboutads.info/choices for US.
Do Not Track
Most major browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. We currently do not respond to DNT signals because no industry standard for compliance has yet been established. We may revisit this once one exists.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically. The "last updated" date reflects the latest version.
